The high-precision drilling machine is used for precise machining of holes, fits and complex workpiece geometries with the highest requirements for dimensional accuracy and surface finish. It is mainly used in tooling and mold making, precision engineering, as well as in the aerospace and medical technology sectors.
Machine construction
The machine is designed as a highly rigid precision machine and essentially consists of:
• a vibration-reduced machine bed made of cast or mineral cast
• a precisely ground cross-table arrangement (X/Y axis)
• a vertical Z-axis (spindle stroke)
• optional a pinole (X axis) for fine drilling movements
All guides are manufactured as lapped sliding guides or high-precision linear guides and ensure maximum positioning accuracy.
Operating principle
The high-precision drilling machine operates on the principle of coordinate drilling:
• Positioning the workpiece via CNC or manual control
• high-precision delivery of the spindle
• Machining by drilling, reaming, honing or countersinking
Typical positioning accuracies in the range of a few micrometers.
